Italian Village Restaurant & Bar has been serving up homemade Italian & American favorites in Buffalo for over 30 years. While the location may have changed in recent years, the food has not. The Balconi family is still hard at work in the kitchen preparing delicious meals like this Shrimp Provenzano, fresh shrimp sauteed with tomatoes, garlic, onions in a light cream sauce over spiral pasta. Or try one of the American favorites like the Pork Tenderloin, a pan-seared tenderloin of pork encrusted with crushed black peppercorn, wrapped with bacon & topped with a stone ground mustard & port wine sauce. The menu at Italian Village contains a large variety of dishes, sure to please every taste; and the service is personal & friendly. You would expect to pay a lot at a restaurant for the quality & portion sizes. So you'll be surprised at the reasonable prices & the many specials that you'll find daily. Currently there is a $25 dinner for two special; and there are also several coupon offers available here on Buffalobarfly.com.

Once a month, we visit a wonderful restaurant, Italian Village, owned by John & Fifa Balconi. Up until recently, there were 2 locations: the original Grant Street restaurant, and the newer suburban location at Wehrle & Union. While this location of the Italian Village Restaurant & Bar on Wehrle & Union remains open for business, we are said to learn that the Italian Village Restaurant on Grant Street has closed. Their son (and our friend John (jr)) cooks & manages several days a week at the Wehrle restaurant, so we often visit both locations.

The traditions & recipes that made the original Italian Village Restaurant a favorite destination for so many years lives on here at the Italian Village Restaurant & Bar on Wehrle Drive in Williamsville, as evidenced by the dining room full of loyal customers. Please be sure to show your support for John & Fifa at the Italian Village Restaurant in Williamsville. You won't be disappointed! Click Here For The Rest.

Another delicious homemade Italian dinner at the Italian Village Restaurant at Union & Wehrle. Starting out with a giant Antipasto - fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green & black olives, chick peas, ham, salami, cappicola and mozzarella cheese. Then there's the signature dish, Pasta John made with your choice of pasta mixed with fresh tomatoes, garlic, onions, peas, broccoli and shrimp, with romano cheese. Or try the traditional Sausage & Peppers - delicious Italian sausage with green peppers and cooked in a delicious tomato sauce served with a side of Ziti & tomato sauce. Last week we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Italian Village. They have two locations: the original Italian Village on Grant Street on the West Side and their suburban location on Wehrle at Union. Check out the awesome baked fish with lemon sauce, cornbread stuffing, shrimp & crab. With a side of pasta and homemade sauce, it's more than the average person can put away in a sitting. Like all the dishes at the Italian Village, there's more food than you can finish and it's a lot less expensive than those chain restaurants. And don't forget to ask for dessert! Real, freshly filled cannoli and one of the best cups of coffee around. If you're looking for a great place for a date or special occasion, and you want really good food but don't want to spend too much, you should try Italian Village. They also have banquet facilities and very reasonable catering prices. Later that evening, the Molson Girls stopped by to check out the late night entertainment with one-man-band Al Krew belting out favorites from the 60's & 70's. Click Here For The Rest.

Our favorite Italian restaurants are the two locations of the Italian Village Restaurants. Check out the Chicken Florentine and the Fettuccini Alfredo with Crabmeat. The Cannolis are freshly filled with homemade sweetened Ricotta cheese - delicious. Every weekend, the Italian Village bar & lounge at the Wehrle & Union location features live music. Wednesday night I stopped in at the Italian Village restaurant & bar. They have 2 locations: the original is on the West Side on Grant Street in Buffalo, NY; and the one we visited, located on Wehrle near Union in Williamsville. Our first problem is always the size of the menu. There are too many great choices. It's like a book. The second major problem is the size of the portions. If you're not careful, you won't have room for dessert. And if you order an appetizer llike the bruschetta bread, you'll be full before the main course even gets to the table. Pictured here is the pork tenderloin, which is - tender, juicy and flavorful. Click on the photo to see the other entree in the photo album, Shrimp Provenano - shrimp & pasta in a delicious, rich & creamy white sauce. Stop in tonight for some delicious Italian food and tell John the barfly sent you! Click Here For The Rest.
